NETL Researchers Win National Award
Evan Granite and Henry Pennline of the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) received the 2005 Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer from the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) for Technology Transfer. The award recognizes laboratory employees who have accomplished outstanding work in the process of transferring a technology developed by a federal laboratory to the commercial marketplace. Evan and Henry were honored for their efforts to commercialize the application of short-wave ultraviolet radiation for the control of mercury emissions from flue gas. Powerspan has licensed the technology (Photochemical Oxidation, or PCO™) for application to coal-fueled power plants. NETL was recognized at an award ceremony May 4, 2005, at the FLC national meeting in Orlando, Florida. Source: National Energy Technology Laboratory.
